Character Name: Khemrys
Canon: Witchworld ~ Tales of the Witchworld 3 (Wereflight)
Game Transplant: Suadade
Original App: Khemrys
Game Summary: Suadade was a game on a small, cube of a world in the Kingdom Hearts universe (but nowhere near actual KH plot). The premise was that characters had 'strength of heart' moments that let them fall into the dark paths instead of falling with their worlds when heartless came. When Finders located characters and brought them back to Penrose, they were given refugee status with all that implies. Player characters were left to find employment or join rescue and adventures teams, so on so forth, so that the citizenry need not risk themselves. Unfortunately the game itself was short lived due to a variety of real life reasons for all involved.
How long was your character in Game: 05/2/2014 - 12/09/2014 : Several months in game.
History of Character in their Game: Khemrys was found with her 'finding sib (all characters arrived in pairs and were considered siblings by the world) in the darkness after her choice, which was giving up the Sword and taking the Symbol of Gunnora (giving up fighting ability to maintain her own magics). She was terrified honestly, having been on the run for years from a Hunter in her world, her strength of heart moment was turning to face him as a woman instead of in fur. Granted naked and terrified didn't seem such a strong moment to her but it qualified somehow.
Worse she was housed with her 'sibling' a large, taciturn man that was utterly terrifying to be near. She spent most days in his presence as a Pard at first, especially sleeping, she was a cat tightly curled at the edge of a bed rather than a vulnerable woman in ill fitted loaned clothing. This actually aided her in connected to her sibling, Magus, who was a cat person and found it soothing that she was a cat who was occasionally a woman. She adjusted to being in human skin once more over time, and even found employment in the local hospital. The clothing was scandalous (scrubs), and the technology terrifying, but she was NEEDED and a healer never ignored such.
It was shocking to encounter prescription drugs. She was a Still Mistress herself, alongside the healing gift, so she knew potions and herbal brews that...were far less dangerous than many of the things in the pharmacy. In no few cases her mixes proved better for patients, infused with ability and less addictive could be an incredible gift. Not to say she didn't learn about modern drugs as well, as necessary for her job, but she did not care for them. No, far from. She was bold enough, finally, to plant her own garden and resume her stillwork for those who needed it.
Missions were interesting; in that regard where she went to find more seeds and herbs, and be a touchstone for her friends. Many she met and learned to enjoy the company of, were soldier types, and needed a softer balance in worlds where darkness was rising. Not to mention field medicine. Life was...better, finally. Not stable, she was still and outsider, as were all the foundlings, but she was able to find moments of calm in this world.
Characters who influenced her greatly:
Magus (Chrono Trigger): Magus was Khemrys's finding mate, her sibling as far as Penrose was concerned. Nevermind the circumstance she was forced into a one room charity apartment with a man much larger and stronger than her. He was terrifying, in as much as she was able to articulate. Dour, disconnected, and...lonely. The loneliness helped her connect after a time, and his pessimistic outlook on life colored her opinion of other worlds no little bit. It was odd to find him...protective....of his odd cat after a while. Odder yet to realize she could identify that. A man who wished to protect a cat, imagine. She still slept in cat form in their shared home but she slept...safer feeling than she had in a long time. Even as she worked not to be afraid, he seemed to work to connect, at least a little, meting her in the momrnings after her long shifts to see her home safe and the like. It let the fear quiet, greatly, and the warmth of kinship rise.
Roy Mustang (Full Metal Alchemist): Ah, Roy. From Lord to military man, he was an confusing blend of terrifying and honesty. He tried, Powers bless him, not to be a fright in her life. And when she could admit such she found him kind for his care of her boundaries. His world was a fascinating and vulnerable one, bound in more wars than her world had ever known, but of a more human nature thankfully. Of any she met he had the Will to withstand her world should he ever end up there, though she certainly did not wish such. Driven, fervent, and with a care for his underlings that was certainly a good reflection upon him, he was a puzzle who would be a High Lord given his aspirations. He might even be a High Lord she'd swear to honestly, as much as he allowed forgiveness of her own fears.
Chrome Dokuro: In Chrome Khemrys met another Lady who understood such things as needing to grow up quickly to aid others. Different circumstances and paths yes, but they were both old before their time and others tended to judge them for those choices. Of course they became friends, Khemrys teaching the girl to sew, and Chrome teaching her Kumihimo, a weaving method. She had not had an actual female friend in...quite some time. True friends, not acquaintance, and that led to silly things like teasing and talking and even a few moments of quiet talking about...past things. The start of healing.
How did they change from their canon personality wise (Please explain what caused it to happen?) Khemrys is by nature a calm and graceful person. When she arrived she was coming off of years of being hunted forth from the only home she knew. She was tense around people again and terrified of men, to a degree she still is, especially strange men taller than her who are in her space. But through the people she met and befriended she learned to find her inner balance again to a degree, and learned of a condition called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Not being alone in the soul shuddering fear helped, to a degree. She is still nervous, but she doesn't assume most are willing to summon hunt against her now. She did not have time, in game, to receive therapy beyond an initial therapist meeting but she appreciated those willing to go at her pace in regards to social.
How did they change from their canon physically (Please explain what caused it to happen?): Khemrys was hounded forth from her home just at the cusp of womanhood and the start of her own shifting ability. This meant she ran hard and fast through a great deal of her formative years, leading to a rail thin bod and a stunted pard form. Time in Penrose has allowed her human body to regain some weight, so her bones are not obvious under thin clothing, but her pard form will never grow out to proper proportion.
Powers: Alright here we go, some of these are innate to her bloodline as Old Blood, others are innate to Khemrys herself, Old Blood abilities are noted in Italics. The game Suadade gave characters a Kingdom Hearts type access to magic, but Khemrys's healing was innate to her blood and bone so she rarely drew on the new magic system, instead using the tool she had most practice with (per mod permission).
Oath Binding: Oaths and promises spoken in her area, and more, witnessed by her, are binding. To be an Oath Breaker causes dire consequence to the individual along the lines of karmic justice or an open weakness to darker influences.
Dark Sense: As a person firmly on the path of Light, she has a sensitivity and weakness to Darkness and shadow. Darkness has a scent to her, and Evil makes her immensely ill to be near, much less touch. Telltale odors of corruption and foulness cling to those who've engaged in terrible acts, the same for lands and areas where evil makes their lair.
Healing: Healing comes to her through her bloodline, a true gift for mending that which is damaged in others. It takes Will, and strength from both the patient and herself, but she can mend even dire wounds. If pushed hard enough to can hold a soul while mending a mortally wounded person, but it will lay her out for a week or more to do so. That is not to say she is foolish in approaching such; she straightens bones, cleans wounds, stitches and the like to conserve energy and prevent sealing awful things under skin after a healing.
Mind Healing: This is a tricky thing, she can apply healing to less concrete things than a body, a mind can be worked upon either in dreams or sheer Willpower, but such is a long, slow process and one she is unaware she has, which mean she will need to be given a reason to even attempt it.
Sleep: As any good healer does she knows the value of rest for a patient. She can drop someone into slumber when necessary. She has yet to consider it as a offensive weapon for defense.
Detox: She can draw poisons from wounds and long term illnesses, but it means touching the poison with her mind which can lead to echo symptoms within herself.
Shifting: Khemrys is the only female were rider in all of her world. It is not an ability females can hold, and had she not been a truly stressed Healer needing a method of escape, her abilities would not have cracked her body and reached for her father's bloodline in order to grant her another form. She has a pard form, or clouded leopard as it's known, though it is a stunted version thereof with paws and tail over-large for her body. As a Wererider, she is not contagious, but she is bound to fur for the full three days of the full moon each month, unable to shift back to skin, though any other time of month she can shift between either state easily.
Possessions: Four full sets of handmade skirts and shirts, three sets of scrubs in various colors, a full compliment of simples and medicines, stillwork equipment, and seeds to a variety of herbs. She also has a small companion, Penrosians called her a dream eater, and she does aid Khemrys in resting, but mainly Rimia (named for the dearly departed Dame of Khemrys's past) is a tiny, pastel colored snail that likes to play in Khemrys's braid, munch herbs, burble and sing when happy. (Mun does not know if this 'dream eater' has any relation/similar source material as those in We the Lost. General assumption is 'no' and that's just the name the old game gave the beings that took shapes to complimet their new friends).
Also 1 Elo device. This is a necessary component of Penrosian drifters, to anchor them, and help translate, make calls, transfer funds and so forth. Khemrys hates it, it makes her skin crawl as the device is half magic, functioning by punching a pathway to the bearer's heart, which is a high violation in Khemrys's world and feels like constantly walking around with a bleeding wound near blood hungry animals, weakness and drain in one. She keeps it wrapped in silk and tucked safe beneath clothing whenever possible, it mutes the feeling to a degree, but she will destroy it, utterly, the moment she's able. This will mean she will lose the ability to speak to others in Pard form, as the device translated by reading her heart in either shape.
Please provide three samples from your previous game, at least one will have to be third person with context:
Sample One: Roy treats Khemrys to dinner out, which is a novel experience with a variety of missteps on both counts.
Sample Two: Magus and Khemrys edge up sideways on the being siblings thing. Khemrys and a shift in the hospital where Roy is admitted.
Sample Three: Magus returns home after a long period lost in the Darkness. He was missed greatly by his finding sib.
Bonus! Khemrys meets Jack Frost, because Powers from tales are...not uncommon in her own world (and he hit her with a snowboard so meeting might not be the term...)
Notes:
Khemrys went off world on a few mission while in Penrose!
Nightmare plot! (This is where Khemrys obtained her Dream Eater companion). Darkness had found a way to infultrate even a locked world like Penrose via the shadows in people's dreams. This led to a world wide sleep deficit as nightmares were powerful things. The hospital Khemrys worked at was swamped and even the woman herelf worn too thin to resist dark dreams. In time, as the menace drew closer to the world properly, nightmares increased to the point of being little different from reality, and this harmful. Dreams started to overlap, allowing friends to aid each other in escaping nightmares. Trapped in a seeming of betrayal by those she loved best in her past, Khemrus was not brave, but she managed not to run, and that ended the dream.
Button World of Coraline: The arrival teams ended up in the button world on the other side of the door instead of the main house on arrival. And that meant people were lost in made up worlds to fulfill fantasies...to ill end. Khemrys ended up paired with Rainbow Dash and thus a pard was lifted to Cloudsdale as Dash's dreams of being a Wonderbolt were granted. The kitty was rather distressed by being in a building in the clouds, given she would fall if she left her stool, but, well, that proved an excellent exit as far as Dash was concerned. One terrifying race to certain doom later and they had found SOLID GROUND! and it was much easier to discuss and dissect possible motives behind the dream!
Piccadilly & Knightsbridge Dracula plot: Khemrys and Chrome are teamed and tasked to find the world lantern if possible, they inspect areas by...going shopping in each building on the assigned streets! They do not find the lantern to lock for the world but they do find many goods annd make a promise to teach another crafts. Once night falls Khemrys ends up in field medic position as other pairs run into vampires!
The world of Ink: Khemrys emerged not in the cityscape, but in the safe, Dreaming Wood, and there met the Pathfinder Jacob. A Power by all definitions of the word and one that did not think to harm her (Powers, even good ones, could cause harm). She was able to learn that her world did not cross borders with the Dreaming Wood, thankfully, and that she would not be sealed from returning to Pennrose if she chose to stay and rest there, and chat with souls that passed.
Monsters Inc world: Khem's pard body received a Monster world shift into something a lot more toothy! As yjos was a world not in need of fighting or seeking missions, she spent time reassuring and briefly teaching another who was stuck in a feline body, then went sight seeing through a local park with Anna (Frozen).
New York Mission: Khemrys first outter worl mission it ended up more of a site seeing run after charming the arrival moogle out of a map and finder herself (with large, brotherly protector sorts) poking through Chinatown for strange and interesting herbs to add to her stillroom work.
Non-mission important threads:
~Khemrys met with a counselor for the first time. Granted, the Snivy, Theoryss, she met was unexpected, but she was well able to handle the fact a human had been summoned to a world of Pokemon to battle evil. Her own world was rife with tales of such travelers. After a bit to acclimate she did at least admit why a counselor had been suggested to her, though the story she gave was brief, brittle, and far from complete, it did at least let her start trying. They did not get much beyond discussing options for PTSD treatment before Khemrys had to retire to think.
~Loki experiences chocolate with refined sugar at a local festival and Khemrys aids him deal with the sudden, vibrating energy touching him briefly to read his body and let him know if such was a true drug to his kind. Thankfully for Loki's future happiness, it cts as a decently powerful anti-depressant and mood stabilizer for the mischief god's quirky biology.
