Honeymoons
Who: Jason and Khem
When: The two weeks after they return 'home' from WW and have a ceremony in St. Louis.
What: Hawaii!
Planes were terrifying things. Carriages of metal and steel, defying gravity and tearing through the skies with a sound more suited to great winged beasts than anything mechanical. Jason's world, HER world, it WAS hers now she was wed and her life was here, her anchors gone from the other realm...THEIR world was a brazen one. They tempted fate with many of their machines.
She had practically crawled into Jason's lap as the plane started rising, face pressed to his chest and doing her utmost NOT to shift in her terror. He had coaxed a drink into her via small sips and kisses through the flight but she remembered little of it. Just clinging, mind blank with terror greater than even she'd experienced in her first car ride. It was all wrong and disconnected from what SHOULD be possible. Gates sure, easy, magic of course, FLYING THROUGH THE SKY NOT SO MUCH. She didn't leave bruises on Jason's hands but it was probably close? And he had exactly zero personal space on the way. His lap was her home!
Compared to the method of getting there, well, the island itself was a wonder. It was so warm and sunny that she had to shade her eyes and a nice young man offered a sun parasol for her milky skin. She had never seen trees such as grew even near the airport, much less the lush and humid area of their 'hotel'. Hotel being a misnomer as they had a private 'hut' in a secluded cove, a place called Kailua, which did NOT involve an even smaller 'plane' to get to thankfully. The garden was wet and lush, all giant leaves and rare flowers, scents that made her wonder and wish to sample everything from petals to root...
...and the ocean. The ocean. They had a private beach from their small cottage, and she spent house that evening simply standing at the water line and staring, drinking it in. She had always wished to see where the Sulcar roamed and this, this had to be the warm, welcoming cousin of such a storm tossed waterway. It was salty and strange and utterly enchanting in the moonlight that was kinder to her than the sun in this land. "It's beautiful..." she breathed to Jason when the moon finally set amongst the waves. "The Sea. I have heard so many, many tales...."
She loved how his arms felt sliding around her, the warm rush if his breath against her neck as he reveled in being able to grant her this glimpse of a dream. "We can play in it," he laughed in her ear.
"...what?" What?! PLAY HOW?!
"I have brochures babe," he assured softly. "But tonight I"m getting jealous..."
She flushed, touching the hands clasped along her belly, "ah, I've neglected you my dear lord..." she chuckled softly. "My apology."
"Hey, don't apologize, we've been over this! Just....is moving water so much better than me?" he teased, nipping her ear.
Was it? It was simply a dream to see it, nothing more, Jason was her future. She smiled, turning in his arms and kissing him properly, "you have granted me a long held dream my Jason, but you will ever be greater in my eyes..." They could plan play in the morning hours hmmm?
