Just a night in

Who: Beryl, the boys (all the boys)
When: After shift at work, after Eric has his systems set up.
What: SOCIAL TIMES!

"You sure about this?" Beryl chuckled, leaning on Eric's car after closing time, waiting on other folks to get changed, etc.

Eric sighed, crossing his arms atop the car and resting his chin on his wrists, "yessss? Maybe. I dunno. Been a long time since I was social at my house, but really getting 'Lani to set the game boxes up kind of means it'd be weird not to officially invite them over?" It would be rude.

Ish.

"Did you get any food in?" she chuckled.

"SHIT!"

That had Beryl laughing like hell honestly, how not? "I reminded you two days ago, and again yesterday..."

"I got distracted," he sighed. "I"m really considering asking people at the club WHO they see when they look at me? I mean the two Lani hangs with, Nat and Jason? Pretty sure they see someone new every time the looks I get sometimes, and even Lani does double takes sometimes! It's getting distracting!" He wasn't sure he liked...caring enough to notice?

Beryl shifted to lean a hip on the car, watching him better, "been a long time since you did social indeed," she mused. "You sure you're really okay with having people in your house?" Not just her? Judging by the decor and shit when she did hang with him, it had been his private lair and safe place for...a long time.

"I got a bit burned out on social in the seventies," he admitted quietly. "People...die so damn quickly sometimes. Easier to just to not..." connect.

Damn, she'd suspected that. "Hell," she sighed. "This is going to freak you the fuck out."

"...yeah," he admitted quietly.

"Listen, they get to be too much you tell me and I take them the fuck home okay? No questions asked, I can play bouncer at your house, but generally we get enough pizzas in to sink a frat house and sodas and chips they're pretty self contained? I claim couch, they get floor."

"That...that might help," he agreed.

"We're all pretty touchy off work," she'd been more so since it was healthy for shifters it seemed? "You okay if people lean on your legs?" Boundaries were important? Nat and Lani she figured could pick up on making the Ubi uncomfortable but Jason was a knucklehead most days...

"Hey, worst part is just getting people there, I"ll be okay," he chuckled softly.

"Slippery slope though, me, then these guys, then before you know it you'll have a barbecue or something..." she teased, touching his cheek.

He took a deep breath and huffed the dust on the top of the car in amusement, "I'm sure I figure out grilling, it can't be that hard right? Idiots do it all the time!"

She snickered and ruffled his hair, "yeah yeah, you say that now, then the fire department shows up..."

"Mmmm, tasty firemen..."

"Win win I guess," Beryl laughed as the terrible trio finally tumbled out the back door. Lani looked over at the pair and grinned, Jason gave a wolf whistle and Nat waved shyly. "Alright you yahoos, load up, one of you get on the phone to the twenty-four hour pizza place."

"Want me to detour and get chips and sodas?" Lani offered with a grin.

"Good call," Beryl nodded, "I can get pizzas in while you shop?"

Lani held his hand out for the car keys and dragged Jason off to carry things, Nat sliding into the backseat of Eric's car as the loaded into the front and draping over the seat to yawn, "this sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. Thank you for inviting us," he offered.

Eric nodded, "well, I'm hoping so? Part of the learning video games thing is a house party apparently."

"You really don't have any food?"

Beryl chuckled, "he lets me keep Powerbars there now?"

Lilac eyes blinked at the pair of them a moment, "lets?"

"We're not dating," Eric snorted. "Just it's what she had in her car?"

Beryl shrugged, "it's wasn't shopping day really. Powerbars are easy."

"...I make meals for Jason and I at the apartment. I'll just start doubling it for you and Lani," he smiled. "It's easy, I promise."

She shifted around to look at Nat, draping an arm back over to hive him a half hug over the seat, "you're a sweet kid Nat, you really are. I promise we don't starve..."

"But you can eat better," he smiled. "And I can put stuff in the freezer at Eric's maybe?" he offered, glancing at the Ubi.

"I guess?" he blinked. "We order in when she's over?"

"That's good too, but just in case! Everyone should have food just in case."

The worried look Eric shot Beryl was pretty heavy on the 'shit what happened to this kid?' but...everyone had their tragic stories didn't they? "There might be some really old ice trays in the freezer, I'll get those pulled out." Yup, what else could he say? "You any good with video games?"

"I don't know, I think I'll mostly watch," Nat admitted.

"That's usually what I do currently," Beryl agreed. "Still fun though, and fun to mock some of the weirder stuff."

"I dropped a tank on myself," Eric huffed.

Nat blinked? "I have no idea how you'd do that."

"Neither do I! It just HAPPENED!"

"Oh."

Beryl snickered, "it was funny. Anyway, give me a list or budget for food stuff and I'll pick stuff up too? No fair to not kick in."

"I'll do that. If you have a membership for Costco or something that will help..."

"I have one," Eric admitted simply.

"That's amazing!"

He shrugged, "they have great bath towels. And I do the bar shopping for the wells for the owner."

"So we'll go grocery shopping with Eric sometime," Beryl laughed. "How domestic of us and shit."

"It's nice," Nat agreed easily.

"I guess..." Eric was so lost yup. Grocery shopping and Costco memberships were amazing and nice.

"Are there any games without tanks?" Nat asked wistfully as they pulled up to the townhouse.

"Yeah I just grabbed a bunch, and one is just...rolling stuff up."

"Rolling stuff up?"

Beryl nodded, "also hilarious, c'mon we'll get that loaded up before the other two get here and go into multiplayer space marine mode."

"...rolling stuff up..." Nat had no idea what that meant at all but it had to be better than guns so he bounced up the steps after them, glancing around when they got inside. "Your place is nice." Clean, he approved.

Yup.

Beryl got the pizza place on the phone while Eric got Katamara Damacy loaded up, by the time she was off the phone the two were giggling over rolling up light poles! Dorks. She just shook her head in amusement and stretched out on the couch, head on Eric's knee and hands in Nat's hair, "yeah, this was a good idea."

"I can pick up the CLOUDS!" Nat laughed.

Good idea indeed.
